Land conversion: approved by default when the Deputy Commissioner does not decide in time

The Revenue Commissionerate issued instructions for the online conversion process, under which land is treated as converted if a complete application is not decided in time.

The Karnataka Land Revenue (Amendment) Rules, 2025, in force from late December 2025, moved land conversion online and gave the Deputy Commissioner a time limit. The Revenue Commissionerate’s instructions of 20 April 2026 set out how it works: if a complete application is not decided within 30 days (30 working days in one report), the land is treated as converted, the owner pays the fee online and the system issues the conversion order.

A conversion order issued this way is still a conversion order. Check its number, date, survey numbers and area as you would any other. See Land conversion.
